My memories of Nirvana Blues are small. In Summer, 1989 I joined these cats rehearsing in the Valley. We worked up a set of material, and played a gig or two, but things didn't take off.
Probably the most interesting factoid about this band is that we tuned our guitars down a whole step and a half. This, combined with the (expensive!) Maxima Bass Gold strings (Medium, .050 - .105) on my early eighties Jazz Bass, yield an unusual growl, and allowed for easy 1 or even 2 whole-step bends ("Poor Man," 4:15 on MP3.COM).
Due to continued overhwelming demand for .MP3 files, I have moved the Nirvana Blues sound files from my website to MP3.COM. Please visit www.mp3.com/NirvanaBlues to hear the band. Thanks for your patience.
I apologize, but I barely remember one guy from the lineup:
