Electric Blue
Rock Band 1987

Electric Blue: I got hooked up with this band in the summer of 1987, and it was good fun. The guitar player Derek Day is a noted guitar teacher, and we performed a number of technically challenging tunes, in addition to the required club covers.

Just after I took a loan and purchased a PA system we disbanded. This was September, 1987, a time period I remember quite well because it was a major turning point in my life. Just after Electric Blue broke up, I got awakened by a call informing me of the death of my favorite bassist, Jaco Pastorius, who was was beaten to death by a club bouncer. To top it all off, the great house we were renting was sold, forcing us to move. It literally took me years to recover from these events!
